Activating the Youth of Heinola as City Planners

A collaborative effort with the City of Heinola and Lahti University of Applied Sciences aimed to find new ways of opening up the youth’s (16–29 yrs old)  experiences of their living environment, along with creating a dialogue between them and the city. The project generated a communal space for new ways of working, included multiple interviews and engaged dozens of students to observe, visualize insights as well as to create their own content to social media. The collaboration was financed by the Regional Council of Päijät-Häme and was a part of the City of Heinola’s updated strategy of creating 1001 new posts of employment to the city by the year 2021.
